Management BiographiesALFRED J. AMOROSOPresident/CEO, Director of the BoardMacrovision Corporation Fred Amoroso is Macrovision's President and Chief Executive Officer. Amoroso brings to Macrovision extensive leadership experience in the information technology, communications and insurance arenas with executive roles spanning from advisor to general manager to partner to president and chief executive officer. Before joining Macrovision, Amoroso was an advisor to Warburg Pincus in the Information Technology and Communications practice. Amoroso has served as president, chief executive officer and vice chairman of Meta Group and president and chief executive officer at CrossWorlds Software. Prior to CrossWorlds, Amoroso was general manager of IBM Global Services Asia Pacific. He held various other executive positions at IBM including general manager of the worldwide insurance business unit, general manager of the North American insurance business unit and president of the insurance consulting practice. Before joining IBM, Amoroso held various positions at Price Waterhouse, now PricewaterhouseCoopers, including lead technology partner and partner in charge of the worldwide insurance consulting practice. Amoroso is on the Board of Directors of Foundry Networks, Cyclone Commerce and Syndera Corporation. Amoroso holds a B.S. in Systems Engineering and M.S. in Operations Research from Polytechnic Institute of Brooklyn. MARK BISHOFExecutive Vice President, Sales and ServiceMacrovision Corporation As executive vice president of sales and services, Mark Bishof oversees all sales, presales, services, channels and alliances for Macrovision worldwide. Bishof is a software and management consulting industry veteran and brings a diverse background in selling and delivering enterprise integration and technology solutions for Global 2000 customers. Prior to joining Macrovision, Bishof held executive positions at IBM including vice president of worldwide industry solutions sales and vice president of worldwide sales for WebSphere Business Integration. Bishof was brought into IBM as part of the IBM acquisition of CrossWorlds Software, where he was senior vice president of global sales and services. Prior to CrossWorlds, Bishof was a partner at Deloitte Consulting in the Global Telecommunications & Media practice. He has also worked as an associate with Booz-Allen Hamilton and as a consultant to Warburg Pincus in their Information Technology and Communications practice. Bishof serves on the Board of Directors for Solstice Software and holds a B.S. in Computer Science from the University of Maryland. JAMES BUDGEExecutive Vice President and Chief Financial OfficerMacrovision Corporation As Macrovision's executive vice president and chief financial officer, James Budge has worldwide responsibility for the company's financial management, control, reporting, planning, tax, investor relations, information systems and facilities operations. Budge brings extensive financial experience to Macrovision, most recently serving as chief financial officer for Trados and as chief financial officer for Sendmail. Prior to Sendmail, as chief financial officer of Crossworlds Software, Budge played a key role in the company's IPO and eventual acquisition by IBM Corporation. Budge has also held the role of director of finance at Arbor Software, overseeing the company's secondary stock offering and merger with Hyperion Software. Budge started his career at Price Waterhouse LLP. Budge is a Certified Public Accountant and holds a Bachelor of Science in Accounting from Brigham Young University. ERIC FREESenior Vice President, Hardware LicensingMacrovision Corporation As senior vice president of hardware licensing, Eric Free is responsible for leading Macrovision's worldwide hardware licensing activities and expanding the company's relationships with hardware and consumer electronics manufacturing customers. Free joined Macrovision in 2001 in a corporate development role and has been instrumental in developing the company's business and strategic development activities. He has overseen patent development and licensing efforts, led multiple acquisitions and asset purchases, managed relationships with key strategic partners, and championed Macrovision's move towards digital distribution and consumer electronics licensing. Free was promoted to his current position in January 2006. Prior to joining Macrovision, Free headed business development for Electrifier, Inc., a leading streaming media technology company. Additionally, he has worked for several venture capital funds, and has led engineering teams for a multinational professional services firm. Free holds a Bachelor of Science in Engineering degree from Duke University, a Master's of Science in Engineering degree from Stanford University, a Master's of Business Administration degree from the Fuqua School of Business at Duke University, and a Master of Arts degree, concentrating in international affairs, from Georgetown University. He is a licensed Professional Engineer. LOREN HILLBERGExecutive Vice President and General Manager of Emerging BusinessesMacrovision Corporation As general manager of Macrovision's Emerging Business Group, Loren Hillberg is responsible for developing new businesses from the early stages and transforming them into high growth, stable business units. Loren has also served as executive vice president and general counsel, where he was responsible for all corporate legal matters at Macrovision. Before joining Macrovision, Hillberg served as senior vice president and general counsel of Macromedia, Inc., a provider of web publishing products and solutions. Prior to Macromedia, he served as vice president and general counsel for Micro Focus Group, Plc, a UK based provider of enterprise software tools. Hillberg is a member of the California State bar. He holds a B.A. in Economics from Stanford University and a J.D. from University of California, Hastings College of Law. BUFF JONESExecutive Vice President & General Manager, ProductsMacrovision Corporation As executive vice president and general manager of Macrovision's products, Buff Jones is responsible for product management, development and support for all Macrovision products. Jones is a software industry veteran with twenty years of senior management, product strategy and business integration experience. Before Macrovision, Jones served at IBM as vice president, responsible for IBM WebSphere's worldwide business integration development and OEM enablement. Prior to IBM, as senior vice president of products at CrossWorlds Software, Jones was instrumental in the integration of CrossWorlds after its acquisition by IBM in 2002. Before CrossWorlds, Jones held executive roles at Merant including senior vice president and general manager of Merant's PVCS business unit and senior vice president of mergers and acquisitions. Prior to Merant, Jones served in several senior management roles at Compuware Corporation where she lead the client server systems management team and the North American sales, services and product management teams. Jones holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Education from the University of California, Los Angeles and an MBA in Information Systems and Business Communications from the University of Southern California. GREG JORGENSENExecutive Vice President and Chief Marketing OfficerMacrovision Corporation As executive vice president and chief marketing officer Greg Jorgensen is responsible for worldwide product marketing, demand generation, geo/field marketing, market intelligence, brand strategy, customer analytics, channel and alliance marketing, web management, industry analyst relations, sales enablement, advertising and public relations. Jorgensen brings more than 25 years of experience building, rebuilding and managing a wide variety of international and domestic brands including Oracle, IBM and Cisco, applying an extensive knowledge of strategic marketing, direct response, sales enablement and integrated promotions for global brands. Jorgensen was most recently senior vice president of worldwide marketing for McAfee, Inc. where he was responsible for overseeing the creation of global marketing campaigns and implementation of a worldwide branding strategy, culminating in a global re-launch of the company under its premium brand, McAfee. Prior to McAfee, Jorgensen was the vice president of worldwide marketing at CrossWorlds Software until its acquisition by IBM in 2002. At IBM he was a senior consultant for Software Group's Solutions and Strategy Division and was primarily responsible for leading the global strategic positioning of business integration (and CrossWorlds enterprise applications technology/products) as it evolved within the WebSphere brand. Previously, Jorgensen was vice president, worldwide brand marketing at Oracle, where he spearheaded a new strategic direction and global positioning across 36+ countries. Before joining Oracle, Jorgensen headed up agency operations, account management teams and corporate development for various marketing and global advertising firms in San Francisco, New York and Los Angeles. Mr. Jorgensen holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Southern California and a Master of Arts degree from the University of Southern California, Annenberg School of Communications. LAURA OWENSenior Vice President, Global Human ResourcesMacrovision Corporation As senior vice president of Macrovision's global human resources organization, Laura Owen is chartered with building a culture of excellence centered on execution, teamwork and customer focus. Owen brings to Macrovision more than 20 years of human resource and business experience, successfully building high performance, strategic HR organizations. Before joining Macrovision, Owen served as a member of Cisco's senior HR staff, where she provided strategic leadership and project management for key HR initiatives. In addition, she worked with Cisco's general counsel to deliver worldwide legal support for HR, compensation & benefits, stock plan administration and work place resources. Prior to Cisco, Owen led the HR organization at Women.com. She helped take the company through its initial public offering and its subsequent acquisition by iVillage. Owen also worked for United Airlines where she managed interactions with United's machinists for the western U.S. region and Canada. Owen is an employment & labor attorney and is admitted to practice before the California Supreme Court, U.S. District Courts of Northern California and the U.S. Supreme Court. She also serves as a board member for two nonprofit organizations - the Law Foundation of Silicon Valley and The Whistle Stop (a child care center for Veterans' Administration Hospital employees). Owen holds the professional designation of Senior Professional in Human Resources. She received her law degree from Santa Clara University and an undergraduate degree in Personnel and Industrial Relations from San Francisco State University. DAVID ROWLEYSenior Vice President and Managing Director, Asia-PacificMacrovision Corporation As senior vice president and managing director of Macrovision's Asia Pacific region, David Rowley oversees Macrovision's content and software value management businesses in Asia, including developing partnerships with key entertainment and software customers in the region. Rowley previously served as vice president of business development and as interim general manager of Macrovision's Software Technologies Group (STG), extending Macrovision's software value management solutions for software publishers and their customers, ranging from electronic licensing to enterprise usage optimization. STG has over 50,000 customer organizations and deployments on more than 500 million desktops worldwide. Following Macrovision's acquisition of InstallShield® Software Corporation in July 2004 and Zero G Software in June 2005, Rowley spearheaded the integration efforts in accelerating the existing InstallShield and Zero G product lines, capitalizing on synergies with Macrovision's FLEXnet platform. Rowley has extensive senior management and business development experience in the software industry and has been a member of Macrovision's management team since 2002. Prior to Macrovision, Rowley was the co-founder/CEO of PhotoPoint, a digital imaging company funded by USVP and Softbank, as well as founder/president of Pantellic Software, an e-commerce solutions company. Rowley is a frequent speaker and author on digital rights management, software licensing and business development best practices, including authoring a regular monthly column for IBDNetwork. Rowley holds an honors bachelor of computer science from the University of Waterloo. JIM RYANSenior Vice President and General Manager, EMEAMacrovision Corporation As senior vice president and general manager, EMEA, Jim Ryan is chartered with leading Macrovision's EMEA organization and aligning its revenues with Macrovision's vision and expectations for the global sales team. Prior to his current role, Ryan led Macrovision's services organization as well as its support, operations and pre-sales teams. Prior to joining Macrovision, Ryan was senior vice president of international sales and operations for InstallShield Software Corporation. He joined InstallShield from Reliant Data Systems, now Compuware Corporation, where he was a regional sales director with responsibilities for both traditional direct sales channels as well as OEM sales. Prior to Reliant, Ryan was director of channel sales at Unison Software, now Tivoli Systems, where he spearheaded the channel program for its distributed systems management solutions group. Additionally, Ryan has held positions at Lakeview Technology and IBM Corporation. Ryan earned a Bachelor of Arts from Marquette University where he studied International Political Science and French. JIM WICKETTExecutive Vice President of Corporate DevelopmentMacrovision Corporation Jim Wickett joined Macrovision as Executive Vice President of Corporate Development in February 2004. He is responsible for spearheading Macrovision's intellectual property licensing, strategic partnering and acquisition strategies to expand Macrovision's offerings in digital rights management and software licensing solutions for the entertainment and software businesses. Wickett brings over 25 years of investment and operational management experience in the fields of enterprise software, Internet services and media. Before joining Macrovision, Wickett was a consultant to the entertainment and computer industries helping independent producers and venture-backed companies. Wicket has also served as a general partner in Bay Partners, an early stage venture fund, and was senior vice president for worldwide business development at PointCast, Inc., an Internet and Intranet news broadcast company. Prior to PointCast, he was COO for Rocket Science Games, Inc. and negotiated a number of significant technology, intellectual property and worldwide distribution licenses, positioning the company for acquisition by Sega. Wicket has served as a member of the boards of directors for nine companies in the enterprise software, digital media, Internet services and wireless industries. STEPHEN YUExecutive Vice President, General Counsel and SecretaryMacrovision Corporation As executive vice president, general counsel and corporate secretary, Stephen Yu is responsible for the legal affairs of the company, including intellectual property protection, licensing, corporate securities and M&A, litigation and corporate governance. Before joining Macrovision, Mr. Yu served as vice president, general counsel and secretary of Aspect Communications Corporation, Riverstone Networks, Inc. and Palm, Inc. He also held various positions within the legal department of 3Com Corporation. Mr. Yu began his legal career as a corporate associate attorney with the Gray Cary Ware & Freidenrich law firm in Palo Alto, California, now DLA Piper Rudnick Gray Cary. He is a member of the California State Bar, and received a Juris Doctor degree cum laude from Georgetown University Law Center and a Bachelor of Science degree in electrical engineering from Purdue University. |
