Trymedia Systems announces round 'B' funding from Intel Digital Home Fund and other investors

April 21, 2004. San Francisco, CA.

Trymedia Systems, a secure distribution technology and services company, today announced that it closed its “B” funding round. The investment is being led by the Intel Digital Home Fund and augmented by individual investors.

“Intel is committed to pursuing its vision of unifying computing and consumer electronics capabilities for the benefit of consumers,” said Curt Nichols, Intel Capital vice president. “This investment is part of Intel Capital’s strategy of building an ecosystem of complementary technologies that help drive demand for Intel’s digital home solutions. Secure distribution technology, like Trymedia’s, helps consumers easily and securely enjoy digitally downloaded games and software, helping drive application usage for the digital home.”

Trymedia’s ActiveMARK technologies and services are used by content developers and publishers to securely distribute PC games and other software via download and on disc. Over 3,000 portals, websites and peer-to-peer networks then make the ActiveMARK-enabled catalogue of games and software available to consumers around the world.

“The investment from the Intel Digital Home Fund and others comes at a time when piracy and file-sharing issues have raised awareness for secure distribution solutions to an all-time high,” said Alex Torrubia, Trymedia’s Co-Founder and CEO. “We plan to use these resources to help meet the explosive increase in demand for our solution by developing new verticals and territories.”
