Press ReleaseMacrovision Works With Microsoft to Deliver Over 1,000 Popular Games and Software Programs Online at Windows MarketplaceNew multi-year agreement integrates Macrovision's Trymedia games network and Digital Commerce Solution with Microsoft Windows Marketplace and the digital locker serviceSANTA CLARA, Calif. - Dec. 20, 2006 - Macrovision Corporation (Nasdaq: MVSN) today announced an agreement to make its Trymedia games catalog available through the Microsoft Windows Marketplace Web site. Under the terms of the multi-year agreement Macrovision is already offering more than 1,000 popular core and casual downloadable games on Windows Marketplace, greatly expanding the catalog of games available to consumers on the Web site. In addition, Macrovision has integrated its games and software content with Microsoft's digital locker service, which provides a consumer-friendly virtual repository of a user's software licenses and downloads on Windows Marketplace. Windows Marketplace (www.windowsmarketplace.com) is an online store designed to make it easy for consumers to shop for a vast selection of software that works best with their Windows-based PCs, Smartphones and Pocket PCs. On the Windows Marketplace site, users can find new and popular products, download software on demand, compare product details, and read reviews from other users. "Consumers want safe, reliable and easy ways to buy software and games online, and Windows Marketplace addresses that desire by providing a simple one-stop shopping experience," said Joe Peterson, corporate vice president of the Market Expansion Platform Group at Microsoft Corp. "Macrovision is a trusted industry partner and its extensive catalog of games allows us to provide consumers with a better selection than ever before." Macrovision's games network enables the secure digital distribution of PC games, providing game publishers, portals and retailers with solutions for content protection, eCommerce and distribution services to maximize their sales. Macrovision's games distribution network connects hundreds of publishers and Internet sites with millions of consumers worldwide, offering games to legitimately download, purchase, and share. In addition to Windows Marketplace, Macrovision connects game publishers with consumers through several major online portals. "We are extremely pleased to be joining Microsoft Windows Marketplace," said Fred Amoroso, CEO of Macrovision Corporation. "We value opportunities to extend the reach and breadth of our games distribution network and Windows Marketplace provides a powerful venue for providing consumers with access to the latest in cutting edge games and software. Our collaboration with Windows Marketplace delivers more choice and more content to users and provides our game and software publishers access to an exciting new channel." Macrovision, already a Gold Certified Partner of Microsoft, is combining its Digital Commerce Solution and the Trymedia games catalog to integrate its online game distribution network with Windows Marketplace. Macrovision's Digital Commerce Solution is designed to provide comprehensive access control, licensing, packaging, billing, offer management and payment capabilities that enable companies to gain control over customer interactions, diversify product offerings and employ unlimited online business models. This can result in increased sales, customer acquisition and customer satisfaction, faster time-to-market, and decreased ownership and maintenance costs.
