BiosAndres TorrubiaTrymedia Systems Co-Founder, Chief Technology OfficerAndres leads research and product development, engineering and architecture from Trymedia Systems’ European Laboratory. The company was founded around his vision for the now-patented ActiveMARK™ technologies and he continues to play an important role in the development of new ActiveMARK-based products. Andres is a frequent contributor to technical publications, including IEEE Transactions on Multimedia, Journal of Computers and Security and EDN Magazine. In addition, he has given numerous lectures and speeches on the topics of security, content protection and software engineering. Andres holds a combined BS/MS in Telecommunications Engineering from the Polytechnic University of Valencia, Spain, and is currently completing his PhD in Perceptual Cryptography. Gabe ZichermannTrymedia Systems Vice-President, Strategy and CommunicationsGabe directs Trymedia's worldwide strategic relations, product marketing and marketing communications activities. His contributions to the digital distribution industry include such milestones as posting the first song for which an artist could collect revenue on the original Napster, posting the first legitimate downloadable games to Peer-to-Peer Networks and completing extensive consumer research on game download habits and trends. Prior to joining Trymedia, Gabe held positions in the e-commerce field with companies such as Cisco Systems, Bay Networks/Nortel and Checkpoint Software. He was also Director of Marketing for the Game and Web divisions of CMP Media. Gabe is a frequent speaker and media resource on topics related to the digital distribution of entertainment content. He holds a BIS from Canada’s University of Waterloo, and an MBA from Rollins College in Florida. Mike PohlTrymedia Systems Director of Sales EngineeringAs the primary U.S. technical contact, Mike works closely with Trymedia Systems’ customers to answer technical questions relating to ActiveMARK and resolve any technical issues that arise. He also serves as a technical liason between customers and Trymedia’s development team in Europe. Mike has been involved with Sales Engineering for the past seven years, including stints with Siperian and BroadVision. Prior to that he held development positions at Oracle and Amdahl. He is a 1988 graduate of UC Santa Barbara. Andrew Shane HuangAuthor, Hacking the XboxAndrew is a computer architecture expert who holds a PHD from MIT in Electrical Engineering and Computer Science. His interests include all aspects of moving information between processors. Andrew considers videogame hacking to be one of his hobbies, and in addition to writing Hacking the Xbox: An Introduction to Reverse Engineering, admits to having conducted previous experimentation on the Gamecube and Dreamcast consoles. John BorlandSenior Staff Writer, CNET Network News.comJohn covers digital entertainment, intellectual property, content security and related issues for cnet. He recently co-authored a book on the culture and history of computer games called Dungeons & Dreamers: The Rise of Computer Gaming Culture from Geek to Chic. Before working at cnet, John wrote about technology policy for CMP Media’s TechWeb and covered campaigns and politics for California Journal Magazine. He has won several industry prizes including the National Society of Professional Journalists’ Sigma Delta Chi Award. The last game he played through was Ubisoft’s Beyond Good and Evil. George O. GoodmanEngineering Manager, Content Protection, Intel Corporation.George has led research and development efforts in a variety of areas at Intel, Sequent, Xerox PARC and Bell Labs since receiving his Ph.D. in Cognitive Psychology from the University of California, San Diego in 1980. Gavin DoddDirector of Tools Development, Insomniac GamesGavin implemented the content protection for the Playstation games "Spyro 2: Ripto's Rage," and "Spyro: Year of the Dragon." The protection for the former was cracked within a week, the latter a little under three months. Gavin wrote an article about the techniques used and their effectiveness for Game Developer Magazine called "Keeping the Pirates at Bay." Haing worked in the games industry for the past twelve years, he is currently employed at Insomniac Games as head of the tools department. Michael GilmartinDirector of Publishing Support, AtariAs Director of Publishing Support, Mike Gilmartin is responsible for QA, compatibility and the Mastering Lab (Product Security). Mike has been in the software industry for over 14 years and has worked for cutting edge publishers SSI, SEGA, Maxis, and now Infogrames / ATARI. While at ATARI, Mike has rebuilt the Quality Division with a focus on product security. In his 4 years with ATARI, Mike has revamped the security procedures to better protect ATARI's product lines. Since taking over security no source or pre-released products have been leaked by an internal group. Mike has put in place many procedures that have helped ATARI properly secure their products in the retail chain. Siang LooVice President of Engineering, WildTangentSiang Loo is responsible for WildTangent’s engineering organization and has been involved with the WildTangent Web Driver since its first generation. Siang oversees and guides the development of the Web Driver platform, technologies and tools; including the rights management systems used by WildTangent's downloadable games. |
